For many years the S+J matrix manifold has set a standard for manifold units in piggable
areas. It consists of two intersecting pipeline areas. Here the full system area is
permanently filled with product and in most cases connected to tanks. The second area
consists of piggable lines in which products are often changed and which typically are
connected to blending, process or filling stations. These lines can be opened to each
full system line (tank). In this second area pipelines with sizes of DN 50 up to DN 100
can be used in a single valve. The manifold can be built in sizes from one full system
connection to one pipeline (a simple T-port valve) up to a size of as large as 50 full
system connections to 20 pigging lines (this means 1000 possible connections).
Operation can be done manually or automatic. The pipelines are stand-alone ones and can be operated
parallely to each other.
- Closed and piggable to one side
- Compact overall size
- No hoses or couplings: Maximum safety and prevention from leakages and accidents
- For pipelines with DN 50, 80 and 100 in one manifold
- Integrated pig catcher unit
- Few movable components – minimal maintenance
- Automatic or manual operation
- Piggable from and to connections
- Modular design for easy extension
- Cost-effective
- Self-locking on loss of control air and/or voltage
The full system part consists of non-piggable, stabilised ducts which take over the product
feed. Rectangular to these ducts the piggable pipelines are installed. Both are interconnected
to each other with a ring valve design at the intersection. This ring valve opens the
connection from the product feed duct to the piggable part of the manifold and at the same
time serves as pig catcher. The respective ring valves are opened by a manual or pneumatic
actuation unit. A slide drives the actuation unit parallely above the piggable line to the
desired product feed full system part. Therefore just one actuation unit per piggable line
is needed. Cost-intensive interlocking devices and control units are thus reduced. The small
locking unit allows for a very compact design and needs extremely low maintenance. The matrix
manifold is ideal for pipelines leading to and from tank farms, reaction containers and
blenders.
This manifold can be equipped with following options:
- Heating
- Bottom drainage of the full system area, for frequent change of product
- Adjustment of mounting possibility to local situation, such as vertical, horizontal or wall mounting
- Manual or automatic operation
